Semi-Retired Foamer
Добавлен 12 сен 2011
Transport Videos and photos, taken by a transport fan just entering his 50s, along with a selection of his good friends.
Ever since the age of five I have been fascinated by trains and other transport. Over the years since, I have been busily photographing, and to a lesser extent video, all that I have seen.
Content on my RUclips comes mostly from Australia and the Philippines. However, we have had content from Hawaii and a few other locations are still forthcoming.
I share this interest here and on my regularly updated blog.

Old lines removed, Light rail.... Follows😂 Definitely the aussie surfliner will return
WOw Brad. :) That is some good footagesat Carlingford. Been years since I been there when trains still went there when I use to go visit my Great Aunt when she use to lived at Dundas Valley. Phenomenal video mate. all the best.
Bless you mate. Thank you for the kind words. I hope you are doing well.
Nice are they still building it
Yep. Expected to be open shortly. Then hopefully stage 2 will commence.
Thanks for the updated tour views of what was the Carlingford and Sandown Industrial lines. Keep up the Foamer brilliance
Thank you for enjoying kind sir.
🖒🖒🖒 great work
Hmmm.... GTEL 3rd gen?
Australian Surfliner
PNR could have been like this, Clean rails, Nice platforms, And cool trains
Hopefully one day.
Plaridel 500😂
LOL
Railway tunnel? I could see some log parts that kind of look like rails
May be of interest mate. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otford_railway_tunnel
I drive past there regularly. That building has a for lease sign I think. Nice Volvo.
Went past some years ago and saw the buildings there. Been planning to go back for ages to get some current operations
@@NeathSpadge I quite like the Busways fleet as modern stuff goes. Be prepared for a lot of TNSW chevrons and all over white.
Good catch there Mr. Peadon. :)
Been years since I have moved so fast LOL
Riding one serves to remind you how bloody minded and dictatorial NSW governments could be. And the motor vehicles in the late 1950s were not exactly the nicest things to be in unless you bought a Cadillac.
I often wonder what the system would be like today. I wonder how long those R class would have survived.
great work
Huge thanks mate. Thanks for enjoying it.
very good work
Woke me up from being half asleep LOL
2:24 - Now arriving at Rosehill Racehorse 2:44 - Rosehill station name sign
Philippines better disband PNR companies, they are useless, bad service, not economically profitable.
I don't understand this. Could be so much more if the government actually gave them adequate funding to operate a decent service. That PNR manages to operate at all on what funding it gets is nothing short of a miracle. We saw what can be done under the Magno term. But it needs to be ongoing.
In my opinion, the Philippine government would be better off using existing funds to build a road network in rural areas considering that they also have financial difficulties, instead of giving it to the PNR which doesn't even provide anything to the community in this case its use. and yes they need to eradicate corruption and drug cartels. it really disrupts the country's economy. Warm greetings from neighboring countries❤
@@trisulaputranggara no worries mate. Sort of goes against all thinking regarding transportation solutions worldwide. More roads - more traffic issues. Sometimes just transferred elsewhere. 😞 But I respect all opinions. Fully 100% agree with you on the corruption and drug cartel subjects. All Filipinos deserve the best, and the corruption just thieves from them the ability to have that. Huge issue. I'm not even sure how this can ever be fixed. I hope that the next generation of politicians will remember the hardship of growing up and make REAL change for every Filipino. We can hope mate. Whatever happens, lets hope it is for the best. Best wishes.
Great video I remember buying tickets from George the Station master at Blackalls Park station. The train used to sway a bit going round the corners.
Great videos
Many many thanks.
How can you do this to her bringing her into your gunzel world? Don't give her the disease. 😅
LOL. It is my job to share the railfan religion :-) Seriously, she is completely unique, that's why we get on so incredibly well.
Truck and train, Negros Railway is still active after more than 100 years (probably)
I wish I took more video. Took a stack of still shots that will get online over the next year or so. But want to go back and give it anopther go ASAP
Its feasible to revive PRI, Definitely the old stations will be upgraded
For sure. Just got to find someone to finance it and get it going. I was invited to view their presentation and it is all very exciting. Bring Back Our Trains, Rehabilitate Panay Railways! facebook.com/groups/157674294439199
Definitely not feasible to revive, Too much nature has overgrown the alignment
True. Plus part of this tunnel is now a dam.
What do you think was there before?
PNR should have kept steam trains active, Like how US and Australia does
We tried to get a museum going with a view to restoring one as part of the project. But it isn't to high on the priority list for fans there.
It needs to be reinstated for passenger trains only as it's a much straighter alignment. It was bypassed in the steam era because of all the tunnels. No longer a problem. I'm sure they can do a Coledale or even duplicate them long term. Terrible waste of infrastructure. One tunnel is longer than Woy Woy.
0:47 looks the same as the old PNR steam train
How do they maintain the old locomotive that is in display at the entrace of the Tutuban PNR station ?
I don't think they do. :-(
That's sad. Hope they maintain it even if they not going to use it anymore for it is part of the history of train transport here in the Philippines.
very good work
Many thanks mate.
the horn is hoarse
I miss the blue days, and i think GE U14C 916 or 917 was the first ever blue del ive seen.
After the red livery era, the blue as a favourite.
I used to be amused at how Tascott rhymed with Mascot.
You know, all these years going to both and I have never thought about it. Will likely think about it regularly now :-)
I scored an S set after months of getting these at Eastwood at night a decade ago.
Fans are probably the only ones amongst the public who were wrapped to see them turn up. I still get particularly excited when it is a K that rolls in :-)
Gotta take what you can get. I can't unsee the flat roof over the elliptical roof of the Goninan S set.
Hmmm maybe u check out panay railways and then negros sugar railway next
Both have been covered on my blog, Panay railways lots of times. The blog still has a lot of Negros Occ content to come. I think I may have covered (on video) one Panay station on our recent trip.
